This semester I chose to focus my media projects on my fitness journey. Growing up I played soccer my whole life, with practices up to 4 times and week and even up to 2 games on the weekends. I played soccer very competitively and aspired to also play in college, so being healthy was very important to me. I had to keep my body strong and healthy at all times so working out and eating healthy was very important to me. Coming to college and having to give up my dream of playing college soccer due to a knee injury, it was a big change for me fitness wise. From practicing up to 4 times a week and working out my whole body, to trying to make it to the gym at least once a week with balancing school became a big challenge. I ended up gaining some weight and became unhappy with myself. I decided I wanted to make a change. I started eating healthy again, waking up early, and going to the gym before classes. As this pattern kept progressing I became to feel like myself again, and actually felt healthy. That is why I chose to focus my media project on my Fitness Journey.
The best way to show my Fitness Journey is by documenting it through pictures, videos, and audio. For the picture aspect I will take pictures of my meal preparation, which shows how to eat healthy. I will also take videos of my workout routines at the Chinook and document how to properly workout and keep your body strong and in shape. I will then make an audio recording of people that have been through the same experience as me, and how their fitness journey has impacted them. For Unit 3 project, which is the Auditory part, I am going to interview my friend Jaclyn who also played competitive soccer and suffered and injury, who is no longer playing and reflect and show her fitness journey. For Unit 4, which is the Video Story, I am going to record my fitness routine to express my fitness journey.
The three links I chose from my Inspiration file have inspired me to have my blog on my fitness journey include these aspects. https://experiencelife.com/article/facing-down-an-injury/ I chose this first link because it is an inspiring page about suffering an injury as an athlete, and a motivational page on how to get through it. I want to include something like this on my blog to motivate people who suffer from an injury as an athlete.
that.https://www.eatyourselfskinny.com The second link I chose is a healthy diet page that I look at very often for healthy meal ideas, that are also lactose and gluten free which has helped my fitness journey. I want to include something like this with my daily meal plans to help people know what to eat to stay healthy.
https://www.lifehack.org/695043/workout-routine-for-women-to-get-strong-and-toned The last link I chose focuses on a good workout routine for women. I have followed this routine, while doing other things which have helped my fitness journey. I want to also include my weekly workout routines in my blog.
