Logo Draft

This is my Logo Draft. For my design I wanted it to be simple and to the point. I didn’t want something that just said my whole idea in a logo, but something that represented it in a more simple way. I first decided to put an “H” in the background to represent the word “healthy” which is the key to my topic which is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I then chose to create a banner that also mimicked the inner part of an “H”. This is where I included the word “lifestyle” in a ballpark Weiner font so it would pop-out and it would add a cool eye catching touch to my logo. I personally really enjoy my logo, because it is appealing to the eye and it is simple and to the point, while representing my topic very well. I also chose the color green, because to me I feel like that represents a healthy color. (vegetables) I used the banner effect which I found pretty simple, the only challenging part was finding the overall idea of what I wanted my logo to look like. I didn’t run into any difficulties, except I did have to go back and watch some of the tutorials in order to remember the exact steps on how to make the banner. Overall, I am very happy about my logo and how it represents my topic.

Final Graphic Design Project

When revising my Graphic Design project I decided to use different aspects in order to make it more appealing to the eye. From the feedback I received I was told to use more tools throughout my project, as well as making my text more more fitting. I decided to make the 3 most important things in my topic numbered to make them stand out and go with my pictures. I used the text tool, along with the rectangle tool to create the colored box behind my text to make it stand out more. I also used the warped text tool for the header to add something different and catch the attention of what my topic is. With my pictures I used 3 that related to my topic the most. One of myself which my Mom took of me in San Diego, California. This represents my journey and why I have a passion about my topic. I then chose a picture of healthy food which I got from a website (will cite below), which is a very important part to a healthy lifestyle. I then used a picture of a gymnasium which I got from a website (will cite below). I chose to put the gymnasium in the background because I thought I represent it in the way that it is the most important part and the core to my topic. I used the Elliptical Marquee Tool to edit both the pictures and do something different with them. I used the tutorials in order to help me do this and refresh my memory on how to use the tools. Overall, I think that the comments and feedback were very helpful and it made me improve my graphic design project in many ways.

Draft Graphic Design Project

My project focuses on my fitness journey. I used these 3 pictures to represent the most important 3 aspects throughout my fitness journey. I used the photograph of the gym to be in the background. The gym has been a very important part of my fitness journey. Leaving soccer and relying on going to the gym and finding workout routines was very important. Staying in shape is the best way to keep yourself and your body healthy. I then used a picture of the plate of healthy food to represent the new and healthy diet I had to take on in order to keep my body in shape, and to keep myself healthy and happy. Eating a healthy diet, while working out will give you more energy throughout your day, and will make you feel better about yourself. l I then added a picture of myself after a soccer game which to me represents the beginning of my fitness journey. Shortly after this picture was taken by my Mom, I had to give up this soccer lifestyle and take on a new one. This picture I view as when I was my best self. Healthy and happy. This motivates me everyday throughout my fitness journey to get back to that state. To me these pictures represent my fitness journey in the best way possible because it brings out the most important aspects of it. I used photoshop to layer my pictures in the way where the gym would be in the background because that is the base of how stay the most healthy.

This is a picture of me taken by my Mom in San Diego, California. This picture to me represents the end of a new beginning. This was after one of my games when I was in the best shape, and this has inspired throughout my fitness journey to get back to my healthy and happy self, even though soccer is out of the picture now. healthy and happy self, even though soccer is out of the picture now.

My Fitness Journey

http://www.quoteambition.com/best-strong-women-quotes-images/

This semester I chose to focus my media projects on my fitness journey. Growing up I played soccer my whole life, with practices up to 4 times and week and even up to 2 games on the weekends. I played soccer very competitively and aspired to also play in college, so being healthy was very important to me. I had to keep my body strong and healthy at all times so working out and eating healthy was very important to me. Coming to college and having to give up my dream of playing college soccer due to a knee injury, it was a big change for me fitness wise. From practicing up to 4 times a week and working out my whole body, to trying to make it to the gym at least once a week with balancing school became a big challenge. I ended up gaining some weight and became unhappy with myself. I decided I wanted to make a change. I started eating healthy again, waking up early, and going to the gym before classes. As this pattern kept progressing I became to feel like myself again, and actually felt healthy. That is why I chose to focus my media project on my Fitness Journey.

The best way to show my Fitness Journey is by documenting it through pictures, videos, and audio. For the picture aspect I will take pictures of my meal preparation, which shows how to eat healthy. I will also take videos of my workout routines at the Chinook and document how to properly workout and keep your body strong and in shape. I will then make an audio recording of people that have been through the same experience as me, and how their fitness journey has impacted them. For Unit 3 project, which is the Auditory part, I am going to interview my friend Jaclyn who also played competitive soccer and suffered and injury, who is no longer playing and reflect and show her fitness journey. For Unit 4, which is the Video Story, I am going to record my fitness routine to express my fitness journey.

The three links I chose from my Inspiration file have inspired me to have my blog on my fitness journey include these aspects. https://experiencelife.com/article/facing-down-an-injury/ I chose this first link because it is an inspiring page about suffering an injury as an athlete, and a motivational page on how to get through it. I want to include something like this on my blog to motivate people who suffer from an injury as an athlete.

that.https://www.eatyourselfskinny.com The second link I chose is a healthy diet page that I look at very often for healthy meal ideas, that are also lactose and gluten free which has helped my fitness journey. I want to include something like this with my daily meal plans to help people know what to eat to stay healthy.

https://www.lifehack.org/695043/workout-routine-for-women-to-get-strong-and-toned The last link I chose focuses on a good workout routine for women. I have followed this routine, while doing other things which have helped my fitness journey. I want to also include my weekly workout routines in my blog.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
